Adam Kelly is a guitarist from the surrounding suburbs of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He started playing guitar at 13 after growing up enamored by music thanks to his father’s guitar playing and record collection, and quickly joined his first band at 14. After getting to play with his favorite band onstage at 17 and teaching professionally at 18, he became obsessed with recording and performing, immersing himself in the local music scene where he would play guitar in various bands throughout his teens and early 20s. 

In 2017, he started the Blackacre Doe YouTube channel, where he became known for his covers, lessons, and unsettling masks. After unmasking in 2024, Adam co-founded Convent.

Convent are a 4-piece metallic hardcore band hailing from Lansdale, Pennsylvania. The band formed in 2024 from a collection of Philly suburbs music scene veterans including members of Midfield, Amora, and Floorbird. The band’s heavy and cathartic sound fuses low-tuned chainsaw guitars, cold industrial grooves, pit-ready breakdowns and haunting melodies to make up their unique sound.

Convent debuted their first single “Dirt Doesn’t Need Luck” in October of 2024, and are gearing up for their next single release in January of 2025. They are currently in the studio working on subsequent singles and rehearsing for their upcoming shows.
