Big Wheels is an electrifying blend of rock and sun-soaked, melodic flair—co-fronted by songwriters Cass Ford and Lawson Doyle. What began in the laid-back suburbs of the Sunshine Coast, Australia in late 2021 has quickly evolved into a powerhouse of modern rock. With a shared love for legends like Fleetwood Mac, Jefferson Airplane, and The Black Keys, Big Wheels craft music that resonates with the raw highs, lows, and complexities of life, all while weaving in a sound that feels both timeless and fresh.

The band have most recently released their highly anticipated new single, ‘Lazy Bones’ dropped in April 2025. A much-loved fan favourite at their live shows, this sultry and ethereal rock tune has captivated audiences with its layered harmonies and electrifying guitar solos. With its dreamy yet intense energy, ‘Lazy Bones’ combines haunting melodies and powerful rock elements, making it a standout track in their growing catalog. 

The band's strong start to 2025 has been driven by the February release of their electrifying rock song, ‘Silver and Black’, garnering editorial attention from Spotify and Apple Music, securing spots on coveted playlists like ‘All New Rock’, ‘New Noise’ and ‘Fresh Finds AU & NZ’ as well as a radio premiere on BBC Music Introducing and labeled ‘Track of The Day’ by Rob Thomas of Matchbox Twenty. 

Previous releases, including ‘What Are You Waiting For’ and ‘Lose On You’, have earned them attention from both national and international music communities, with support from tastemakers Triple J, BBC Music Introducing and Amazon Music as well as features in respected publications for Tone Deaf, Happy Mag and Northern Exposure Magazine (UK). As they continue to breathe new life into modern rock & roll, Big Wheels blend an irresistible dose of nostalgic energy with an edge that makes them impossible to ignore.

2024 was a breakout year for the band, with Sydney and Brisbane headline shows on an East Coast tour in November selling out in pre-sale. From festival performances at Meatstock, Crafted Festival, Tamworth Country Music Festival, Spaced Out, The Great Escape (UK) and Maverick Festival (UK), they’ve also shared the stage with some of Australia’s finest, including Tex Perkins (The Cruel Sea), Hoodoo Gurus, DICE, The Rions, San Cisco and Pacific Avenue, firmly establishing them as a must-see live act.

Having earned a reputation for bringing unmatched energy, charisma, and a vibrant mix of colour and nostalgia to every performance, Big Wheels is looking forward to bringing their debut EP ‘Bury me in Velvet’ and a stack of unmissable shows to 2025.
