Josh Gomez is the sole guitarist for the Queens, NY extreme metal band “The Machinist”. The self taught south paw went from band to band throughout the local NYC metal scene, not being able to feed his need for something out of the ordinary amongst the sea of bands in the big apple. With Influences from the likes of Dimebag Darrell, Alexi Laiho, and Jeff Loomis, Josh wanted to infuse his love for shred guitar with the pummeling hardcore elements that surrounded him from an early age. Thus ,The Machinist was born. The quartet just released their highly anticipated self titled Ep, through Westfall recording studios in Farmingdale, NY, which features soaring solos, punishing breakdowns and beautifully erie melodies. Now, the young guitarist can be seen sharing the stage with bands such as: Suicide Silence, Rings Of Saturn, Carnifex and many more metal titans, to showcase his energetic and chaotic stage presence and unique style of playing. 

Josh's latest project is with Blood Throne who hails from the depths of New York City. Their sound pulls inspiration from modern death metal and black metal all while adding infamous NYC slam and attitude.

The band is comprised of members from Within The Ruins and Aviations with Josh on lead guitar along with others from The Machinist.

Their latest singles “Wronged”, “The Serpent”, and “Crawl” are available across all streaming platforms. They are also currently writing/recording an EP that will be available spring 2024 and will be playing shows to support it.
