"Story time. Have you ever had one of those ‘the one that got away’ moments with a piece of gear? I have, and it was a Pig Hog instrument cable. That was the first cable I had ever picked up where I consciously noticed the heft and build quality. The only problem is it wasn’t my cable. You see, Jesse is a friend. Yeah, he’s been a damn good friend of mine. Yet lately something’s changed that wasn’t all that hard to define. Jesse had a Pig Hog cable, and I wanted to make it mine. I snuck it out to a HiTLiST gig and my blind a** inevitably lost it forever (Sorry, Jesse) … until I bought a two pack to sneakily replace and get myself one. Ever since then I’ve used Pig Hog for everything!"
"I was playing a gig last weekend and stage right had a staircase near where I was planted. Black stairs, black stage, dark room, you get where I’m going with this. My creative trick was using my new PigHog Glow-In-The-Dark Instrument Cable #knowyourtone to create a little safety line."
Meet RJ Weik — writer, recording artist and performer known for creatiing ‘music to kick your friends to’. Heavily influenced by second wave punk, hardcore and thrash metal, he brings a razor’s edge to the sonic table.
His career began as the bassist for the Pullman, WA punks Crisis Neglect prior to chilling out with the Moscow, ID rockers, SALT. After relocating to the Lewiston-Clarkston Valley, he jumped in with the alt-rock gang Thundergun Express solidifying his presence in the regional scene. In January 2025, Thundergun Express released their debut album, Faithful Dog, marking a ‘totally radical’ milestone for the band.
Seeking a heavier sound, RJ co-founded the LCV Hardcore band HiTLiST. Whilst quickly gaining momentum in the local scene HiTLiST dropped their first single, Throw It Away, in September 2024, followed by No Son of Mine in January 2025. With an exciting schedule of festivals and kick ass shows already planned for the year, HiTLiST shows no signs of slowing down.
RJ’s passion for music and performance prove that vision is about more than just sight —it’s about perspective, energy, and a relentless drive to create.
