"We’ll never forget our first experience with Pig Hog Cables: August 15th, 2017. The Flusters were on tour in Jackson, MS. We stopped in Fondren Guitars (a local guitar shop) to have our instruments tweaked and to replace some road-worn gear. We desperately needed new instrument cables. The faulty “no name” cables we had been using all tour were causing a lot of stress. Our singer Dougie looked over at the wall and saw a package with a red hog that read “Pig Hog: Tour Grade Instrument Cables”. Intrigued by how cool it looked he went over to investigate. He was instantly attracted by how fat, fortified and anti-tangle they seemed. We decided to purchase a few then off we went to Duling Hall, the venue we were playing that night. It wasn’t until we plugged in that we realized how amazing Pig Hog Cables actually are: Our instruments sounded louder, brighter and super clean. Until that day, we had no idea how much a quality cable can improve your tone! Over a year and 50+ live shows later, every single one of our Pig Hog Tour Grade Instrument Cables have held up just as well as the day we bought them. It’s really simple: There is absolutely no reason to ever buy another cable. Pig Hog Products are well made, look and sound amazing, and most importantly, are time-tested tools for the working musician."
Palm Desert-based indie rock quartet The Flusters dub their style "Dreamsurf": Washy, surfy guitar licks layered with driving, retro pop tempos and gentle vocal delivery.
The Flusters formed in late 2015 and shortly after, were invited to play Coachella Arts & Music Festival 2016 and Echo Park Rising 2016 both before releasing their debut EP later that year. They were named "Best Local Band" twice (2015 & 2017) by CV Independent and named "Best Live Performance Band" in 2016 by CV Weekly. In 2017, backed by a successful crowdfunding campaign, The Flusters completed a 22-city National tour, recorded 7 new tracks and released an official music video for their single "Everyday Dreaming" named "Best Single" by CV Weekly in 2018.
The Flusters’ main influence is actually a single song: “After Dark” by Tito Y Tarantula which was featured the Robert Rodriguez film “Dusk Till Dawn” during Salma Hayek’s famous “Snake Dance” scene. Other influences include: Roy Orbison, Dick Dale, The Pixies, Echo & The Bunnymen and The Smiths.
The Flusters have spent most of 2018 playing shows (the most notable being Rhythm Wine & Brews w/ Stone Temple Pilots, The Psychedelic Furs & She Wants Revenge). Their debut LP, "Dreamsurf" was released in 2019 with an official music video for their new single, "When Will Then Be Now?" followed by a national tour with stops in Mexico. Members include: Dougie VanSant (Vocals/ Guitar) Danny White (Guitar) Mario Estrada (Bass) Daniel Perry (Drums) Listen to The Flusters on Spotify, Apple Music and Pandora or visit their website TheFlusters.com
