The Happys, formed in 2012 by songwriter, Nick Petty, are an alternative rock group from the San Francisco Bay Area. The band features, Ale’ Sanchez on lead guitar, Brett Brazil on bass, and Elijah Smetzer on drums. The band has toured nationally numerous times and have garnered a strong cult following.
Through their powerful music and skill of guerrilla marketing, The Happys, have won multiple Bay Area competitions including, but not limited to; 2022 Best Punk Rock band of the North Bay Area by both The Bohemian and Pacific Sun. In addition and more recently in 2024, the band won 2nd place in Corte Madera Fourth of July city festival.
They have shared the stage with a variety of acclaimed artists; most notably, Sublime with Rome, Hobo Johnson, Jakob Nowell from Sublime, Spray Allen, Suicidal Tendencies, WILLIS, Mercyful Fate, Pennywise and a myriad more. The Happys have since released two full length albums: “Trippin” & “ADHD,” as well as an EP “Bipolar.”
The band is working on a new album with Brian Rosemeyer and Jack Endino, who previously worked on many records from artists including Nirvana, Soundgarden, and Sonic Youth records, to name a few. And have a song with Eric Wilson of Sublime.
